It says freelance writer and editor on my business card although I spend just as much time staring out of the window waiting for inspiration to strike as I do writing. I’ve been a writer/reporter/editor for around 15 years and while still in the UK I worked for a variety of newspapers, magazines and corporate communication departments.

I started freelancing when I landed in Vancouver in the summer of 2005 and have written about everything from naked yoga and great white sharks to kidney donation and bike trials.

Having swapped the gridlock and grime of London for the greenery of Vancouver’s North Shore, I’m bracing for my next big momentous occasion, the arrival of my first child.
